LCRP brings cancer treatment to Pembroke area
St. Joseph’s/Candler and the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion offer the latest in cancer treatment at our oncology infusion center in Pembroke. This allows patients in Bryan County and surrounding communities to get chemotherapy and other infusion services closer to home.
Summit Cancer Care is partnering with the LCRP to provide medical oncologists to staff the location, all of whom participate in our Clinical Effectiveness Teams, which meet regularly to assure best practices in treatment regimens are offered to each individual patient.
The Pembroke facility is located at 159 West Railroad Street, Building B, Pembroke, next to our SJ/C Primary Care practice, which has been serving the community since 1994.

The space in Pembroke is approximately 5,300 square feet and cost an estimated $2.5 million to complete. The state-of-the-art facility contains:
- Space for 10 infusion chairs
- Three exam and procedure rooms for medical oncologists
- Pharmaceutical mixing lab for chemotherapies and other necessary infusions.
Services offered at the Pembroke location include:
- Chemotherapy
- Immunotherapy
- IV Hydration/Electrolytes
- IV Iron Infusions
- Port Flushes
- Injections
- Therapeutic Phlebotomy
Additionally, the Pembroke center benefits from the expertise of the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP), which the LCRP and Summit Cancer Care have been a part of for more than six years. This provides patients in that area access to evidence-based cancer care and the benefits of the latest clinical trials.
St. Joseph’s/Candler and the LCRP have had a longstanding goal to bring the best cancer treatments to people where they live. We’ve been rapidly expanding cancer treatment programs across the region for the benefit and convenience of our patients. Centers have opened in Jesup, Statesboro, Hinesville and Pembroke, in addition to our expansion in Bluffton and Hilton Head, S.C.
