Minimally Invasive Approach for Improved Patient Experiences
Advanced minimally invasive surgical options result in improved patient experiences. Our cancer specialists at the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion offer expanded capability for many cancer surgeries through this less intrusive approach. Benefits of a minimally invasive procedure include:
- Faster return to normal daily activities
- Less blood loss
- Less need for blood transfusions
- Less pain
- Quicker recovery
- Shorter hospital stay
Expert Oncology Surgeons with Multidisciplinary Approach
At the LCRP, our multidisciplinary team cancer care team benefits patient care with the expertise of an entire team working for their improved outcomes. Our expert oncology surgeons attend a weekly cancer conference to discuss each individualized case with other physicians and surgeons to develop treatment plans based on national guidelines.
Accurate Diagnostics for Treatment Decisions
If you have a suspicious lump or other tissue that needs to be examined, your doctor may recommend a tissue fine needle aspiration, core needle biopsy or excisional (open) tissue biopsy for diagnostic examination prior to treatment decisions. At the LCRP, we offer advanced diagnostic techniques such as an ultrasound-guided biopsy or stereotactic breast biopsy to provide reliable and adequate tissue samples.
