Cancer Registry

Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion's cancer registry compiles information on every St. Joseph's/Candler patient with active cancer including their demographics, staging information, primary site and treatment details.

The information, stored in a database accessible only by St. Joseph's/Candler staff, is reported monthly to the Georgia Comprehensive Cancer Registry and annually to the National Cancer Data Base, a joint program of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the American Cancer Society.

St. Joseph's/Candler uses the information collected to study topics including stage at diagnosis, treatment modalities and concordance with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guidelines. State and national databases use the information to identify cancer trends and clusters.
