Neuro-Oncology: Technology Integrated with Clinical Research
The mission of the neuro-oncology program at the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion is to eradicate neurological tumors and related disorders. Investing in the latest technology - like the CyberKnife® - integrated with clinical research, our multidisciplinary approach to treatment offers individualized care plans through all aspects of the cancer care continuum.
Neurosurgical oncology offers expertise in the surgical removal of primary and metastatic brain tumors or primary or secondary central nervous system (CNS) tumors, including malignant and benign tumors, which utilize oncologic therapies. Our multidisciplinary approach brings together neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, radiation oncologists and oncology nurses for advanced clinical care. Together, this advanced care team uses technology such as CyberKnife® and TrueBeam for advanced radiation precision.
Advanced Cancer Treatment with CyberKnife® and TrueBeam
CyberKnife® and TrueBeam advanced technology allow our expert cancer specialists to apply high doses of radiation to small areas with phenomenal accuracy. The pinpoint precision of these cutting-edge radiation technologies delivers a radiation beam that precisely targets the cancer and keeps exposure to healthy cells to a minimum. Without any incisions, we have the capability to deliver the radiation dose from different angles with unmatched accuracy.
