Surgical OncologyYana Puckett, MD, MBA, MPH, MSC received her medical degree from Ross University. She completed her General Surgery training at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas as well as a two-year research fellowship at Saint Louis University followed by an advanced fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Her clinical focus will include breast and cutaneous oncology programs. Dr. Puckett specializes in complex surgical oncology with a focus on breast and melanoma. She is double-board certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and complex general surgical oncology. In addition, Dr. Puckett specializes in Integrative Nutritional Medicine.
Dr. Puckett’s research interests are primarily in the field of surgical oncology, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, Meckel cell, sarcoma and melanoma cancers. Areas of specific interest include health outcomes, quality of life, process improvement, systems engineering and treatment options for patients with advanced melanoma.
Dr. Puckett provides a wide range of services including axillary lymph node dissection, lumpectomy or partial mastectomy, oncoplastic breast surgery, lymph node dissection, melanoma completion lymph node dissection (axillary and groin), melanoma sentinel lymph node biopsy, melanoma wide local excision and skin closure, modified radical mastectomy, needle-localized excision, sentinel lymph node biopsy, simple mastectomy, skin-sparing and/or nipple-sparing mastectomy, wide local excision skin with reconstruction.
