Accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehab (AACVPR), our specially trained rehabilitation experts are able to help patients with a structured and individualized plan that includes monitored exercise, modifications to lifestyle and behaviors, counseling, and education for long term success.
Components of The Heart Hospital’s heart and lung rehabilitation include:
- Counseling to reduce risk factors
- Educational support
- Exercise training
- Stamina improvement
- Strength training
Our comprehensive inpatient rehab services at St. Joseph's Hospital and outpatient rehab services in the Heart & Lung Building at Candler Hospital assist patients on the road to successful recovery, beginning soon after surgery for hospitalized patients, but continuing after patients return home.
How to Enroll
A physician's referral is necessary for admission to cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation. Our rehabilitation Medical Director carefully reviews individualized care plans, including goals and exercise prescriptions, but the patient's referring physician remains the primary physician during rehabilitation and is kept informed.
