St. Joseph’s/Candler has four Hernia Master Surgeons, accredited by the Surgical Review Corporation: Dr. Timothy Finnegan, Dr. Jeffrey Mandel, Dr. Anthony Foley and Dr. Narra Reddy. (Pictured left to right below)
What is a Hernia Master Surgeon?
A Master Surgeon meets the Surgical Review Corporation’s rigorous accreditation program requirements, as verified by a thorough inspection process.
As part of our Hernia Center of Excellence accreditation, our providers undergo a rigorous, unbiased inspection to ensure they meet nationally and internationally recognized standards of excellence. The inspection evaluations treatment pathways and consultative services, equipment, patient education and support groups and surgical experience.
These four surgeons highlight the pivotal role they play in ensuring patients receive the highest level of care and underscoring St. Joseph’s/Candler’s commitment to their well-being.
Dr. Foley graduated from the Albany Medical College in New York and completed his residency at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Ft. Gordon, Ga.
Dr. Mandel graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a fellowship of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Finnegan graduated from Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. He completed his general surgery residency at Memorial University Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in advanced bariatric and minimally-invasive surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Dr. Reddy graduated from medical school at Medical College of Georgia and then did a residency at William Beaumont Hospital. Dr. Reddy did a fellowship in surgical critical care and then a mastery of general surgery with Metro Surgical PC.
All of our Master Surgeons are trained to approach your hernia robotically, laparoscopically or open depending on the individual characteristics of the patient and the location of the hernia. We tailor our approach to be minimally invasive when possible and when it best serves our patients.
All of our surgeons are Board Certified by the American College of Surgeons, and all of our surgeons treat all types of hernias including epigastric, flank, hiatal, incisional, inguinal, paraesophageal, umbilical and ventral.
