What Can I Expect During an EBUS session?

EBUS is performed during a bronchoscopy, a routine test used for lung diagnosis. Your physician will guide a small tube through your mouth or nose and into your lungs. A specially designed ultrasound probe is then inserted into the tube, where it can feed information about your lungs and chest to the physician. Abnormalities like enlarged lymph nodes, tumors, irregular growths and infections can be easily spotted through these readings and therefore treated with greater accuracy.
